). I’m short—163cm—and today I weigh 140kg. I’ve tried it all. Saxenda? Lost 10kg, gained 30kg. Ozempic? Lost about 5kg, gained it all back the moment I stopped. Wegovy… well, you already know how that story goes.
Then on 26 May, I started the carnivore diet. I was strict—meat, meat, and more meat. I lost 11kg! But then, over the past week, the scale crept back up 400–800g at a time, and suddenly I was back at 140kg. My feet were always swollen, and something just wasn’t adding up.
So I went for lymphatic drainage. The therapist looked at me and asked, “Do you know you have lipoedema?” Nope! That was news to me. Cue the research rabbit hole…
I was amazed to discover there are entire Facebook communities about lipoedema. One page that stood out was run by Kristin Kristin Osborn. For some reason, I immediately trusted her. So off I went from Sydney to Warners Bay, and wow—what a worthwhile trip.
That one hour with Kristin was one of the most informative, reassuring hours of my life. She answered questions I didn’t even know I had. She made me feel comfortable, not like just another patient. She genuinely cares about people. She’s honest, straightforward, doesn’t sugarcoat things—and she actually saved me a lot of money. I was ready to waste thousands on TENS machines, vibration plates, and all sorts of gimmicks. Kristin set me straight.
So here’s my advice: before asking Dr Google, go see someone who truly knows lipoedema. I can highly recommend Kristin Osborn at Newcastle Lymphoedema and Lipoedema Clinic.
